World-renowned photographer and mountaineer Jimmy Chin collaborates with documentary filmmaker E.Chai Vasarhelyi in Free Solo, a riveting film that follows free soloist climber Alex Honnold on his journey to be the first free-solo climber of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
Chin and Vasarhelyi create a deep, physical and emotional portrait of Honnold that captivates the audience throughout the course of the film. Honnold also ascends El Capitan’s 3,000-foot granite wall rope and support-free, a feat that is inspiring to watch and beautifully captured through stellar filmography and jaw-dropping shots.
